Our driver was very knowledgeable and friendly, and provided plenty of time during the tour for photo opportunity stops along the way. the itinerary was well balanced with a small napa winery, then a big one with beautifully manicured gardens where we had lunch - the perfect spot to stop. and then took us to a very small family owned winery in Sonoma. Lastly, they took us to an expansive winery with amazing views - the perfect ending to a wonderful day. it was nice to see three different types of wineries. all in all, worth every penny! Anonymous, US 2007-10-10 To be honest, when Doug (our guide) first started babbling, I was feeling some dread, thinking it was going to be a very long day. Within an hour, I was flat-out in love with the man. His tell-it-like-it-is manner lost its abrasive tone and we all really warmed up to him. He was funny, knowledgeable, took very good care of us, and is clearly respected by the wineries that he has relationships with. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and I would recommend this tour to anyone. Anonymous, US 2007-09-07 Our guide was a young and very knowledgeable man. I consider myself quite acquainted in regarding wines and have done many wine tasting tours. This man was fantastic not only he knew about the region but he was capable of answering any question in regarding history, architecture of the city. The timing was perfect as he never rushed us and always was considerate of the passengers. The small group of seven people was great! However one negative point was your HOP ON HOP OFF bus run by the same company as the wine tour. That was a total rip off and ruined the first 2 days of our trip. We were able to catch the bus once (from Macy's Union Square) to Fisherman's Wharf. The guide was horrible all he had to say was just Hollywood stuff or about his grandmother shopping ! We went back at 4:45pm to catch the bus back and it never showed up. The next morning we parked in front of Macy's again where someone was selling tickets again. After waiting for 20minutes the bus shows up and they say this is just a shuttle not the tour bus!!! So there went our ride! We tried to ask then where was the bus and the person selling the tickets basically walked away from us. We had one ride for $22 a person!!! We ended up buying Muni tickets that were a great deal and took us all over town. We felt this was a huge tourist scam, and filled complained with the SF Tourism Bureau. It was also very warm that day and one of the wineries did not have air conditioning. We sat outside under a shelter for the wine tasting. It was way too hot for that winery.
