Nobody loved storytelling more than Walt Disney -- whose simple sketch of Mickey Mouse launched an entertainment phenomenon that has spanned generations and revolutionized movies, music, television and theme parks around the world. Here in San Francisco, just minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, Walt’s remarkable story and achievements have been brought to life at The Walt Disney Family Museum.
Imaginatively designed in an historic red brick building on the grounds of The Presidio, a national park, the 40,000 square foot venue features contemporary interactive galleries and state-of-the-art exhibits that are narrated in Walt’s own voice. Founded by Walt Disney’s family foundation, the Museum also features early drawings, cartoons, movies, music, listening stations, more than 200 video screens, a 14 foot model of Disneyland, a digital theater that screens Disney classic daily, a café and museum store.
